Stating that 8 UN Safety Council member nations don’t acknowledge Kosovo, Polyanskiy requested that the nation’s flag not be mirrored on the display.
Russia’s flag objection brought about the meeting to be suspended for some time.

Vietnamese Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, who held the time period presidency of the UN Safety Council in April, later introduced that the Kosovo flag might stay within the digital session and restarted the meeting.
Kosovo, which declared its independence from Serbia unilaterally on February 17, 2008, is acknowledged by 117 nations.
