Known as the tallest hill in the world, Everest is now known as the world’s tallest garbage dump. The hill, which many people start to visit every year, özgü turned into a huge garbage dump due to the people climbing, not paying attention to the environment. The Chinese government also had to take action on the issue.
Climbing Everest is seen as one of the top destinations for most people, especially those interested in mountaineering. Every year, the number of people climbing this hill increases compared to the previous year. Sometimes people travel alone, sometimes teams are formed to make trips to the top of the mountain. Unfortunately, even people who are in touch with nature during this journey do not take care to protect it. Therefore, according to the statement made by China, the region özgü turned into a big garbage dump.

According to the statement made by Chinese sources, 60,000 climbers visit the region located on the Chinese side of Everest every year. Mount Everest is located on the territory of two countries, China and Nepal. This year, Chinese officials announced that they have decided to restrict the visits to be made to clean the huge garbage pile in their region. While the garbage pile contains many other materials such as empty oxygen cylinders, plastic waste, items that the mountaineers do not want to carry when returning, it also contains the bodies of people who lost their lives during the climb. The officials stated that during the cleaning works, they will bring the dead bodies that could not be reached or brought before, and therefore, they needed to have a low density in the region.

A different method is being tried on the Nepal side. The authorities, who sent giant garbage bags to the summit along with the mountaineers coming in the spring season, then plan to buy these bags with helicopters.

The hill, which is the highest point in the world and lost this beautiful title to the “highest garbage dump”, will now be allowed to receive less than 300 visitors a year. As a result of the work to be done, it is aimed to return this wonder of nature to its clean days.
