In Israel, lawmakers met to elect the successor of President Reuevn Rivlin, whose time period expires on 9 July.

Former Labor Celebration chief Isaac Herzog and Moroccan-born Zionist activist Miriam Peretz, who lives within the Jewish settlement of Givat Ze’ev between the occupied West Financial institution and East Jerusalem, competed within the voting.

Herzog bought 87 out of 120 deputies within the first spherical of voting, whereas his opponent Peretz bought 27 votes. Thus, Isaac Herzog was elected the eleventh President of the nation.

Isaac “Bougie” Herzog was born on September 22, 1960. He is an Israeli politician and head of the Israel Jewish Company.

He was a lawyer by occupation, serving as Authorities Secretary from 1999 to 2001 and a member of the Knesset from 2003 to 2018. Between 2005 and 2011 he held varied ministerial positions, together with Minister of Welfare and Social Companies (2007-2011).

Isaac Herzog served because the social gathering’s Prime Minister candidate within the 2015 election, having beforehand served as chairman of the Labor Celebration and Zionist Union alliance from 2013 to 2017.

Isaac Herzog, who served as opposition chief from 2013 to 2018, was elected the new President of Israel in 2021.
