Who is Gülse Birsel?
Gülse Birsel was born in Istanbul as the third child of Gültekin and Semiha Şener couple. Birsel, whose father is a lawyer and mother is a housewife, takes her name from the first syllables of her mother’s and father’s names.
Education
Gülse Birsel, who completed her secondary education at Beyoğlu Anatolian High School, started to dream of acting in these years. However, because his family did not want him to be an actor, he chose Boğaziçi University, Department of Economics. Having completed his university education, Birsel completed his master’s degree in cinema at Columbia University between 1994-1996.

He started working in Aktüel Magazine when he was in the second grade at Boğaziçi University. Birsen graduate education completed and returned to Turkey in 1996, ATV began writing the exterior of the morning news bulletin. After working here for 3 months, he worked as the editor-in-chief of Esquire magazine 1 year later.
Gülse Birsel, who was the editor-in-chief of Hrper’s Bazaar Magazine in December 1997, worked there until 2003.
Between 2001-2002, he worked as a columnist for Sabah newspaper. During this period, he was the general coordinator of FHM, Gezi, Harper’s Bazaar and House Beautiful magazines.
He did not give up acting, which he dreamed of in his secondary education years. He took his first step into the world of television with the program called gag, which was broadcast on ATV in 2002. In March 2003, he published the gag texts into a book called Gayet Ciddiyim. In this program, he was the presenter and copywriter of the program until 2004.
First TV Series European Side!
Gülse, who was the scriptwriter of the European Side series, which started to be broadcasted on the ATV channel in February 2004, was also the leading role of the series. Many master actors accompanied Birsel in this series. The successful actor and screenwriter who managed to gather names such as Gazanfer Özcan, Hümeyra, Ata Demirer and Levent Üzümcü published his second book, “I’m Still Serious” in 2004. The first step of the successful actor into the world of cinema was with the 2005 film “Hırsız Var”.
The legendary series European Side said goodbye to the screen in June 2009. He implemented a series of projects again in January 201. He was again the scriptwriter and the lead role in the TV series “Lie World”, which started broadcasting on Kanal D screens. This series featured names such as Altan Erkekli, Füsun Demirel, Olgun Şimşek and Beyazıt Öztürk.
Birsel, who started as a columnist in Hürriyet newspaper in March 2013, continued as a columnist until October 2019.

Preparing a script for cinema for the first time, Birsel entered the world of cinema for the first time in December 2017 as both an actor and a screenwriter. The movie Between the Family, which was made in 2017, was the most talked about movie among the films that were released at that time. In February 2018, Birsel, who continued to be the scriptwriter of the series again, took part as both the scriptwriter and the lead role in the “Jet Sosyete” series broadcast on Star TV. This series was transferred to Puhu Tv, an internet platform, in 2019.
