In response to stories in the Taiwanese nationwide press, the 8-car practice carrying about 350 passengers derailed in the tunnel it entered in the Hualien district.
Whereas the 4th and fifth wagons of the practice have been closely broken, firefighters and search and rescue groups have been despatched to the scene.
51 PEOPLE KILLED, 146 PEOPLE INJURED
It was decided that 51 folks misplaced their lives and 146 folks have been injured in the accident.
Taiwan’s chief Tsai Ing-wen requested the related ministries and organizations to provoke the required research concerning the accident.
