Poland blocks 2 million euros from Russia

(*2*)Within the information within the Polish media, it was said that the officers on the Russian Embassy in Warsaw needed to withdraw 2 million euros in money from their accounts in Polish banks, proper after the beginning of Russia’s assaults on Ukraine.


(*2*)It was said that this try was inconclusive because of the banks’ cooperation with the Monetary Data Common Inspectorate (Generalny Inspektor Informacji Finansowej), which is the anti-money laundering and terrorist financing establishment. It was reported that the banks blocked 2 million euros of the Russian Embassy in Warsaw.

(*2*)Whereas the Russian Embassy declined to touch upon the matter, the Polish Ministry of Finance famous that the Common Inspectorate of Monetary Data is fulfilling its obligation to implement the restrictive measures referred to in part 10 of the regulation dated March 1, 2018.
