Short Life (Biography)
Nur Sürer was born on June 21, 1954 in Bursa as the daughter of Rabia and Ahmet Sürer couple. He spent his life in Bursa until he completed his high school education. He started acting when he was only 17 years old, taking a small role in the movie “Cinderella”. The movie “Derman” in which he played the character of Bahar in 1983 was the first place he attracted attention. Following his role here, his career rose rapidly and left his mark on the 1980s.
In 1990, he won the Academy Award in the category of “Best Foreign Language Film” and played the leading role in the hit movie “Journey to Hope”. In 2003, he appeared before the audience with the popular TV series “Bullet Wound” on ATV screens. Nur Sürer, who was detained in the May 1 celebrations and released a day later, married Sarp Kuray in 1994.
