Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu shared the anniversary of the terrorist attack in New Zealand

International Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made a press release on the 2nd anniversary of the terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Minister Çavuşoğlu acknowledged that they declared March 15, when the assaults had been carried out, “Worldwide Day Towards Islamophobia”.


Recalling that 2 years have handed since the terrorist attack in Christchurch, Çavuşoğlu shared on his Twitter account, “I commemorate our Muslim brothers and sisters who misplaced their lives in this atrocity. We declared March 15 as the ‘Worldwide Day Towards Islamophobia’ in order to always remember it. We are going to proceed this battle with dedication.” used the phrase.


On March 15, 2019, terrorist Brenton Tarrant attacked the Nur and Linwood mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, with computerized weapons throughout Friday prayers.

Terrorist Tarrant was sentenced to life imprisonment in August 2020 for the attack that killed 51 and injured 49.
