Biden does not touch Trump’s Jerusalem decision

Trump, who was described by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “Israel’s best friend in the White House so far”, took sides with Tel Aviv with the decisions he took after he became President of the USA on January 20, 2017. The most controversial and striking decision he took in favor of Israel was his acceptance of “all of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel” on December 6, 2017. Following Trump’s decision, which disregarded international law and ignored the rights of Palestinians, the US Embassy in Tel Aviv moved to Jerusalem on May 14, 2018. In addition, the Trump administration cut financial aid to the Palestinians and closed the office of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Washington. Trump most recently declared on January 28, 2020, his so-called Middle East peace plan aimed at eliminating the Palestinian cause and targeting the Israeli occupation of the West Bank.

Palestinians breathe a little as Trump left
Trump, who increased the pressure on the Palestinian administration during his tenure, lost the presidential election on November 3, 2020, and the wind slightly turned in favor of the Palestinians. US Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Richard Mills, declared on January 26 that the Biden administration will reactivate the aid to Palestine, which had previously been suspended, and that the Washington office of the PLO will be reopened.
