Armed attack on mosque in Nigeria: 40 people abducted

A mosque in the city of Jibia in Katsina state in northern Nigeria was attacked yesterday night.

Within the attack, which befell throughout the Tahajjud prayer, the armed attackers kidnapped a minimum of 40 people in the mosque.


State Spokesperson Gambo Isah, who made a press release concerning the incident, said that an operation was carried out towards the armed attackers by the safety crew consisting of police and troopers.

Whereas it was said that 30 people have been rescued because of the operation, it was said that the efforts to avoid wasting the survivors proceed.
